Hi,
It should have a webcam as shown in this:
www.bsc.nodak.edu/uploads/resources/1229/8540pquickspecs.pdf
But on other document, there are 4 types of screens HD, HD+webcam, HD+ and HD++ webcam. Please check part number from the following link (Service manual) and order the right part for your machine.

My suggestion: there are many good external webcam around, just buy one and clip it on your machine. Given hundreds users out there can't get the webcam up and running.
Regards.

thanks banhein. but there is 3 different types of LCD panels without webcam in this model. how I can find that which lcd panel is mine. Secondly, which is the best place to order spare parts and what are the chances that after fixing with my lcd panel it will work fine. Your suggestion of external cam is under consideration but actually i want portabiliy otherwise I have to carry external cam all the time,

Hi,
1. Page #28 shows ONLY 1 type of webcam
2. You have to order from HP:
http://h20141.www2.hp.com/Hpparts/part_search.aspx
3. The chance is very slim. Not just the physical webcam, few other things around and given the number of people having trouble with webcam here, all I can say: good luck.
Regards.
