For the past few months, I have been experiencing frequent occurrences of the blue screen of death on my laptop, which results in sudden automatic restarts. I suspect that this issue may be related to my wireless drivers, as I have already attempted to update them, but the problem persists. The BSOD messages that appear include rtwlane6.sys, BAD_POOL_CALLER, and KERNEL_MODE_HEAP_CORRUPTION.

Previously, I used to keep my laptop's mobile hotspot on for extended periods of time, as I utilized it as a router for my LAN connection. However, after approximately two weeks, the hotspot would occasionally stop functioning properly. In an attempt to resolve this issue, I updated and rolled back the wireless network drivers several times, and also reset the network settings once. However, after a few days, I began to experience the aforementioned BSOD errors, which occur suddenly and frequently throughout the day (approximately 2-3 times per day).

I would greatly appreciate any assistance in resolving this issue. Thank you.

Frequent blue screen of death (BSOD) errors on an HP computer can be caused by a variety of issues, including hardware problems, driver conflicts, or software issues. Two common BSOD errors on HP computers are "rtwlane6.sys" and "BAD_POOL_CALLER". Here are some troubleshooting steps you can try.

 

  • Update drivers: The "rtwlane6.sys" error is often caused by an outdated or corrupted Wi-Fi driver. To update your driver, go to the HP website and search for your computer model. Download and install the latest Wi-Fi driver for your device.
  • Check for malware: Malware infections can cause BSOD errors. Use a reputable antivirus program to scan your computer for viruses and malware.
  • Check hardware: Faulty hardware, such as a failing hard drive or RAM module, can cause BSOD errors. Run a hardware diagnostic test to check for any issues. HP provides a built-in hardware diagnostic tool, which you can access by pressing the F2 key during startup.
  • Check for software conflicts: Some software programs can cause conflicts with other programs or drivers, leading to BSOD errors. Uninstall any recently installed programs to see if the issue resolves.
  • Check for Windows updates: Microsoft regularly releases updates for Windows that address bugs and security issues. Make sure your computer is up-to-date with the latest Windows updates.
