If troubleshooting did not correct the issue, then plug in an external keyboard just so see if that works OK -- which I suspect it will.

And in that case, it means your keyboard needs to be replaced.

If you are experienced at laptop repairs, you can often replace a keyboard for $25 for a new one and a half-hours work -- but this is only true for on older HP laptops where the keyboard is held on with a few screws.

But with the newer laptops, there is a serious risk of breaking fragile connectors and cables doing this because you have to disassemble the whole laptop. So. I do not recommend it. Instead, I would recommend you hunting down a local laptop repair place to have THEM replace the keyboard. Sometimes, on some models, you have to replace the entire top surface of the laptop, not just the keyboard. So you should get an estimate of what is involved before you have the work done.

I have found the problem, opened up the case and adjusted the flat ribbon cable connecting the keyboard to the main board. Taped it in place so does not move. Keys work fine.

Glad to hear you fixed it.
