I'm using HP 360 14-dy0053TU for 2 years now without any problem. Recently my trackpad stopped working.
After looking for different solutions, it seems driver issue as shown in the following screenshot:
The complete message is:
Device ACPI\ELAN0749\4&79514e6&0 had a problem starting.
Driver Name: hidi2c.inf
Class Guid: {745a17a0-74d3-11d0-b6fe-00a0c90f57da}
Service: hidi2c
Lower Filters:
Upper Filters: mshidkmdf
Problem: 0x0
Problem Status: 0xC00000E5
I tried to update the driver in the device manager (saying it is the latest), and download and install the driver from the HP site. When I restart my system, sometimes the trackpad works for 2-3 minutes before going unresponsive. It suggests it is not a hardware problem but a software/driver issue.
I'm forced to work with the external mouse which is very uncomfortable for me. Is there any solution for it? Can someone suggest which driver I should install to fix the problem?
Regards,
Kapil.
