Hi,
Thanks for the quick reply. According to this document 32 Gbytes are supported if you have a quad core i7 CPU

Hi,
Based on the following document dated March 2011, the machine supports only 16GB of RAM
http://bizsupport2.austin.hp.com/bc/docs/support/SupportManual/c02749041/c02749041.pdf
Memory 4 customer-accessible/upgradable memory module slots
Supports dual-channel memory Supports up to 16,384 GB of system RAM DDR3 1333-MHz, PC3-10600
1333-MHz bus speed on computer models equipped with Quad Core processors
1066-MHZ bus speed on computer models equipped with Dual Core processors
And here are part numbers:
Memory modules (4, PC3-10600, 1333-MHz, DDR3):
8192-MB memory module 634091-001
4096-MB memory module 599092-001
2048-MB memory module 598856-001
Must be very expensive, you can buy RAM cheaper elsewhere.

Hi,
Well, they can change the specs every second week and people who write the manuals may not have enough time to update. Interesting thing: HP may keep 3 manuals for same series which make a lot of confusions. Another interesting thing: your link shows old i7 & i5 processors but another link shows Gen 2 processors.
Anyway, both documents show RAM as: DDR3 PC3-10600 SDRAM (1333 MHz)* therefore part numbers on my previous reply are still valid.
