Please look this HP page. It says
HP DayStarter |
Get productive even while your notebook boots up. DayStarter displays your calendar and battery charge while your system boots Windows, so you can get a head start on the day's activities with access to key information.8 |

Hi
I don't know but I haven't seen any report about this software anywhere. Did anybody saw this software working on a HP Machine ? is there any screenshots somewhere?
Or has this software haven't been released yet ?

I have a 2760p Elitebook with Daystarter installed on it. it operates as an Outlook add-in.
That said whenever I boot my machine, it shows that my day is empty and regardless of how many times it is telling me that it does as snapshot, it make zero difference.
it doesn't seem to have any performance impact except when I click on the add-in tab, when it locks up Outlook for several minutes.
If you haven't got it, you aren't missing much....

The settings in the Outlook add-in were pointing to the wrong place - having corrected this, it now works.
That said, the boot time on my machine is pretty fast so I don't sit there looking at the screen for long.
It is intersting to note though, that HP has invented a parallel universe where today is Thursday August 3rd, 2011 - whereas in my universe, today is Wednesday August 3rd 2011. I don't know if the problem is because I am in a GMT+12 timezone which is confused the software...
Clearly the test cases were not all that comprehensive...

Is there a solution?
I'm sure that there would be if HP bothered to take responsibility for the quality of their code. I raised separate issue with their security suite software - I eventually got an email asking me to report it to their support center. When I tried to, their systems claimed my brand new machine was not supported, eventually this was resolved they took my report and have ignored me ever since.
I'm certainly not holding my breath.
