Hehe, that is exactly the program I wanted to replace it with, but actually it now seems that a restart might have helped me, I completely forgot that restarting sometimes is necessary to completely delete programs 🙂 As of right now I only see the 3RVX indicator, so it seems that it has been disabled now 🙂 Thanks for your help 🙂

Hi,
If you have HP MediaSmart software installed, you will need to uninstall MediaSmart SmartMenu.
You may want to check out post marked as Solution on the link below.
Best wishes,

I don't have MediaSmart on the pc, although there are other HP programs: Documentation, PowerManager, Quick Launch, Setup Manager, Software Framework, Support Assistant and Wireless Assistant. Would any of these possibly include the indicator? Or could I, by installing MediaSmart from your link, enable it (again) and then uninstall it to remove the indicator?

Hi,
In that case I believe the program you need to uninstall is HP Quick Touch. It doesn't always show up in Programs and Features, but you should be able to use the process below to uninstall it.
Download and install Revo Uninstaller from the link below.
http://www.revouninstaller.com/download-freeware-version.php
Run revo and use it to uninstall your Quick Touch software. Right click on the icon of the program you wish to remove and select Uninstall. During the process you may be asked to delete registry entries, just select all and then click delete. Do the same for any left over files and folders. Once the uninstall has completed, reboot the PC.
Best wishes,
DP-K

Uh, I don't have anything called Quick 'Touch'... I used Revo Uninstaller and only saw Quick Launch. I also uninstalled Quick Launch if the case was that this is what you meant, but the display still appears.

Hi,
On the link below are all the G62 Models. If you can't locate yours, just post back with the part no. ( not the serial no. )
A guide on how to locate your specific Model No. is Here.

Hi,
There's nothing showing in driver downloads so I would have thought that uninstalling Quicklaunch would have got rid of the onscreen volume indicator. The only thing I can think of suggesting is to try and install another software for this to see if it simply replaces it. A popular software for this is on the link below.
