HI,
try a hard reset as follows:
Remove the battery and unplug the DC power adapter.
press and hold the power button for more than fifteen seconds.
plug in the DC power adapter (leave the battery out for now)
press the power button
please post your results here.
If you were successful shut down Windows normally and reattach the battery.
Best regards,
erico

Just did it, but it keeps being stuck at the hp invent screen...
Have you tried tapping the F10 key (to enter BIOS) as soon as you press the power button?
The objective is to enter BIOS and test the memory and the hard disk. A failure of either can cause the issue you reported.
Have you tried removing the memory modules and putting only one in the lower soDIMM slot and then trying to boot into Windows?
This is an alternative means of troubleshooting memory modules. Try one and if no change then place the other module in the lower slot. A memory module failure is more common that a hard disk failure.
Please post your results here.
Here is alink to the support pages for your notebook.

Did the HDD test:
Test 1 (Quick)
Test succeeded
Test 2 (Comprehensive)
Error: Read failure
Memory test:
Walking 0s Passed
Walking 1s Passed
High Adress line Testing Passed
Alternate Pattern Testing Passed
so I guess my hdd is broken?

That is the conclusion that I would reach after the hard disk test.
You can verify that by removing the hard drive and then powering on the notebook. If the BIOS complains that it cannot find a bootable operating system you have found the cause of your problem.
Did you create an HP Recovery disc set or use the Roxio software that is preinstalled oin some Compaq notebooks?
Here is a link to an overview on recovering or reinstalling the operating system

No error messages?
Are you still in the three year warranty period?

Does that also apply to the warranty?
You can also remove the CMOS (RTC) battery for ten minutes or more to clear CMOS.
That is pretty much the end of the road for troubleshooting this problem.
I wouldn't sink $$ into a hard drive or memory. If you just happen to have a notebook hard drive or memory modules to plug in and test I would do that.
