Hi,

I have recently formatted my Elitebook 8540p and now I would like to update or replace all other software that is left.

That includes BIOS and UEFI. I tried to make some changes in the UEFI or BIOS - I am not sure where the configuration options were located - and I was surprised to see, that UEFI has stored my password and username from the OS I have already deleted. This is actually the reason I would like to replace all this firmware to completely erase any trace of old data from the previous system. And this is where the problem occured.

I am not too familiar with these two interfaces, which means that I don't even know how they function or how they interact with one another. Basically, I would need some information on where these interfaces are placed in boot process and I would really need some guidance on both interface's settings. None of these information have been supplied with the notebook instructions and I also couldn't find it on the internet.

I would kindly  ask for some pdf instructions or something like that if it even exists.

Thank you,

Math
