Hello,
My HP Mini (Win xp home ELCPC HP) cannot load into windows because it has some missing files during startup. So i decided to repair the windows.
However, I have some problems loading the WIn XP Home SP2 CD (not ELCPC HP) during startup. I was using IDE-USB hdd closure by replacing with CD-ROM instead of hdd because HP Mini does not have optical drive 😞
The CD was loaded but when half way entering to windows setup, i got BSOD after loading F6, drivers, and BSOD right at "Setup starts windows..".
The error message was something like this:
"Check for viruses on your computer. Remove any newly installed hdd or hdd controllers. CHeck hdd make sure properly installed and configured... Use CHKDSK /F to check for hdd corruption and then restart ur computer.
Technical Info:
Stop: 0x0000007B (0xF7A22524, 0x0000034, 0x00000000, 0x00000000) "
I browsed through the website and found that recommendation of changing SATA hdd to IDE in BIOS. Weird thing is i do not see this option in the BIOS. THere is nothing much option in the bios. I could only change the boot sequence, run diagnosis tool, set up power-on password. That's it.
Any idea how to change the SATA hdd to IDE in HP Mini 110? I'd really appreciate your suggestion.
I have tried to restore but F11/ F10 leads me nowhere. NOthing happen after pressing these button. I wonder why the factory never create a copy for me to restore my system in case of windows problem. I bought Win XP Home and Office but no backup copy of the preload is created for user when it came out of factory. I'm kinda disappointed though.
Anyway, wish to hear from any of you about the questions. 🙂

weird, i dont see MS Outlook that i used to see before. I saw only Outlook Express. Omg ~ Is it corrupted??
May i know where to create recovery disc since HP does not provide any unless pay money for it! Is it the link you provided earlier, by creating Disaster Recovery Set?
Update: I recovered the system to the latest state instead of factory state. Now i could see MS Outlook. I believe it's because of the product key for MS Office at that state was already keyed in and unlock the rest of other apps.
IS Recovery disc for HP Mini actually called Disaster Recovery set? i'm confused.
P.S. something is wrong with the text alignment when using Google Chrome browser. No matter how many blank spaces i left, all the sentences would became 1 paragraph ~_~
