HP, NEW Driver NEEDED for ATI Mobility Radeon HD 5650

Will the drivers in that other thread work for a dv6t se 3000? It mentions the dv6t 4000 and 6000 but not the 3000. Any idea guys?

I have a dv6 xv830pa, running switchable graphics with the intel HD and ATI Mobility Radeon HD5470. I'm struggling to play simple games, yet when i check systemrequirementslab.com, the results same my laptop should run the fast!?

last HP graphics driver update is dated 2010-12-03 , whether its march or december is irrelevant, its ridiculously old. Hitting same problem as everyone else i guess - unable to install an up to date drive through ati, and am stuc with a driver well over 12 months old.

is your method suitable for my dv6 laptop? and are the drivers suitable too?

Hi all, especially to those who have the dv7-4070us pavilion laptop, I have scoured through forums and even contacted HP for assistance in updating the graphics driver (ATI Radeon HD 5650), however, I recently came upon a website which allowed me to update the driver to the most updated version. (Latest driver HP provides was version: 8.771.1.0, but now with the fix, the driver currently running on my laptop is: 8.920.0.0) So to help alleviate those on the path of searching for updates to the graphics driver, here is what I did: (notice I am not responsible for any actions you take, this is just an advice and suggestion)

Step 1: First check to see if HP has provided any new driver on their website, if not proceed to step 2.

Step 2: If HP has not yet updated the driver, then head to google and search your general laptop model. (ie: my laptop was the dv7-4070us Pavilion, so for the search I used only the term: "graphics update for dv7-4xxx")

Step 3: If your lucky, on the top of the list you might see a thread located at: http://forum.notebookreview.com

Step 4: Read through the thread, ask any questions and hopefully there are instructions on how to update.

All I did, following the instructions and what seemed to be the consensus among those successful, was to first install the HP stock amd driver with the switchable graphics option, then just installed the reference amd driver on top of it. (note you should use the files on that site because the stock amd driver installer did not work for me) and after some screen flickering and blankness through the installation, VOILA! gpu driver updated!!!

P.S. I just did this so I am still testing the waters, so far the only caveat is the brightness buttons wont work properly, maybe I have to restart, will update!

Update: 

It seems to be working! yay, got rid of the artifacts when running Skyrim on high mode, else everything seems great. As for the changin brightness issue, that only happens when you use the overclocking tool from ATI, resolved by the next boot:D yep yep!

I'm looking for a driver for the Envy 14t-1000 series.  I have Win 7 x64.  The Megaupload link which was provided earlier is (understandably) dead.  Does anyone have a copy of this file?

Guys so far all of the previous links from megaupload are dead. I have dv6-3020 pavilion with HD5650 and also 8.x driver. How is it possible to get new drivers? Didnt get it from the firts posts..
And yes, now we know how sucks hp customers care

It looks like if you have an Envy 14-1000 w/ radience display, you can install 11.2, and then install something over it.  Check out this forum w/ more information.

Here's the link to 11.2 for Vista or 7 x64.  I'm still trying to figure out what later release will work the best.  If anyone has a clue, it would be great to know.

It's been so long, don't think HP is going to realse anything else.
