HP Restoration Incomplete Error

I tried to do a Minimum Image Recovery, but it keeps failing  end of the process. It only gives me Restoration Incomplete

on duration recovering i disconnect all device and turned On wireless

and steps go to the end then show  “Recovery Preparation is Complete” then press “continue” button reset laptop and windows coming up then I got the Restoration Incomplete

my laptop model is => pavilion dv6-2300

how to solved it?

Hi,

Shut down the notebook.  Tap away at f10 as you start the notebook to enter the bios menu.  Under the Advanced or Diagnostic tab you should find the facility to run tests on both the Hard Drive and Memory.  Post back with the details of any error messages.

i installed another windows 7, it work but not original version windows

Hi,

Are the Recovery Discs you're using, the ones that you create yourself or a replacement set from HP?

Has a minimized recovery worked in the past or is this the first time you've tried it?

my brother create this dvds recovery than my lobtop hp

at before i can recover with same dvds recovery for times ( 2 or 3 times)

but at now i got the problem

Hi,

I would try wiping ( not just formatting ) the entire Hard Drive first and then try reinstalling the Operating System - do not format the HDD after wiping, let yourRecovery Discs perform this.

Unless you already have a utility for doing this, download and install Killdisk on the link below - ( this application will write zeros to the entire drive ).

Download and install ImgBurn on the link below.

Go to the Kill Disk application you have installed in All Programs, open the main folder, then select Bootable Disk creators and from that select Bootable DOS CD Creator which will burn the bootable ISO to a blank CD.

During the next process do not worry about any warnings as your Recovery DVDs will reformat the HDD.

Insert this CD in to your notebook and restart to boot from the Killdisk CD and follow the on screen instructions for Kill Disk.

A brief description of the process is here Killdisk.

Use this to wipe the whole of the Hard Drive, highlight (80h) and press f10 ( you will also have to type a confirmation and hit enter ) - ( this will make sure you include all partitions and then start the process - this may take a couple of hours! ). 

When the process is complete, remove the Killdisk CD and try the minimised installation again.

I do this

Download setups and install it create boot CD than ISO image’s  kill disk

Then  run it in boot and wiping my hard => select 80h and run kill disk (do zero all bytes of hard and unallocated hard) on 2 hour  like under pictures

 

 

I Don’t format and try the minimized installation again

Process run and go to the  last part of read  recover DVDS  like under picture

 

When I press continue  button, system reset  and I saw this message on the black page =>

 

“ No bootable device – insert boot disk and press any key “

At before windows come up then I saw the command page then saw the Restoration Incomplete Error

But at now windows don’t come up and see up message(i think system can not find my hard becuse it is unallocated )

Hi,

Your Recovery Discs should perform a quick format of the HDD before starting the installation so there should not be any unallocated space on the Hard Drive - as you are trying a minimised installation anyway, try the process detailed below - this will at least show if the problem is with the Recovery Discs or with the notebook.

There is a straight forward alternative to using your Recovery Discs if you have ( or can borrow ) a retail Windows 7 installation disc that is exactly the same version as your OEM installation - ie if your notebook came with Windows 7 Home Premium 64bit this is the exact retail version you would need.

If you don't have access to a retail disc, you can create an installation disc yourself - just download the correct Disc Image from the link below and use an application such as ImgBurn to burn the ISO correctly to a blank DVD.  These Images are clean and from a well-respected source, however there are only limited versions available.

Use the disc to perform the installation, enter the Windows activation key found on the underside of your notebook when requested and when the installation has completed, use the 'Phone Method' detailed in the link below to activate the OS - this method supported by Microsoft and is popular with people who just want a clean installation of Windows 7 without the additional software load normally bundled with OEM installations.
