HP Simple pass - Not detecting fingerprint reader

I deactivated and reactivated the device after updating the driver.  That seemed to work

SOLUTION!!

There is a solution provided on the 1st page reply number 5th, by kcrumpler (got 3 kudos for that)

It really works, it worked for me, and was the best solution, i found

how do i get my simple pass to work?? it said that it is turned of. Does anybody know how to turn it on, or make it work?

I am not able to use my fingerprint simple pass.  The sensor no longer works.  Please advise.

So I found a solution on another chat like this that suggested shutting your computer down and taking out the battery for a few seconds then rebooting. After days of my scanner not working it started up again like nothing. Its way easier than trying to dowload who knows how much stuff and if it works for you its easier than trying a whole bunch of system restorations. Hope it helps 🙂

I gave this a try and it worked perfect! I did have to restart the computer after unchecking the box but it got my scanner working again and I really appreciate it.
