I have a pavilion dv6000. Will not boot from hard drive after a Microsoft system up date recent. Notebook was working just fine before. Can any help me is it worth investing on new hard drive and do I need to buy new copy's of windows and office?

Hi,

 

If you have a set of Recovery Discs, you can quite happily use these to reinstall the operating system on the new Hard Drive.  The same is true if you have the installation disc and activation key for MS Office.

 

If you haven't got your set of Recovery Discs, you can order a replacement set using the link below - these are around $16 in the US.

Thank you for you help. I did intact order the recovery CD cost me $29.00 and it arrived next day. My hard drive was damage and I replace it with one with a much bigger capacity for $85.00. Computer is now operating just fine. 😉
