My laptop always echoes after I did some configuration in the SOUND setting from the control panel. But I cannot reset it so that the echoes disappear. Anyone can fix this problem? Thanks!

Hi Jay,

Shut down the notebook.  Tap away at f10 as you start-up to access the Bios Menu.  On the first page of this menu, you should see entries for the full Model No. and Product No. - post back with these.

Hi,

Can you post back with the following.

1.  The full Model No. and Product No. of the notebook ( from the service tag underneath your notebook ) - see Here for a further explanation.

2.  The full version of the operating system you are using ( ie Windows 7 32bit ).

Hi Jay,

Check the following.

Right click the speaker icon in the Taskbar and select 'Playback Devices'.  Left click the default device once to highlight it ( it's usually 'speakers & headphones' ) then click the Properties button.  Click the Enhancements tab and put a tick in the box next to 'Loudness Equalization' and remove any ticks from the other boxes.  Click Apply to save the change and then click OK in all remaining windows and see if this has helped at all.

Hi David,

Thanks for your response! Unfortunately, checking  'Loudness Equalization'  does not work! It still echoes unlless I mute the speaker. Does it have something to do with the incorrect driver?

Thanks!

Jay

Hi Jay,

Can you let me know your exact Model No. - I believe it should be on the list below.

HI David, I think it is pretty much solved by checking: "disable all enhancement" in the playback devices setting. Now it has very minimal echo sound which is acceptable. Thanks! Jay
