I buy dozens of HP laptops each year for my company. My personal HP Mini battery got hot, swelled up and blew open, spewing smoke everywhere and burning a spot on my wood library table! I was told by HP that my battery was not on the "recall" list, so I had to BUY ANOTHER BATTERY! I sent one of those "contact the CEO" emails to Meg Whitman and guess what ....no response. WHO AT HP CARES?? I'll not buy another HP product until this matter is resolved. Meaning, they will give me a reliable, safe product for my money. They can ignore me, but I can ignore them, too!

Send a polite email to the CEO Executive team

Mumbodog.

Thanks for your suggestion. I have already sent a message, using your link address, to Meg Whitman. It was polite and professional. I simply asked why HP would not support their good customers when their products failed in such a dangerous and obvious manner. That was almost two weeks ago. I believe that no response from anyone at HP is an indication of their corporate philosophy.....don't acknowledge a problem until it becomes a "universal" problem. Apparently I'm the only one to have this experience.

Thanks for your interest.

My HP Mini battery ruptured and is now puffed. I've removed it to avoid an explosive fire incident. I'm on the phone with HP Support right now. They are giving me the run around...

My next call is to the[ Moderator edited comment and sent PM]

I will also send an email to the HP Executive Team, per your advice.

Had a similar problem with my HP mini battery.  Got hot, popped out of the battery case and started expanding. Just got off the phone with hp support who promised resolution in 24-48 hours.  Out of warranty though so not sure what they will do.

Hi , I am wanting to know if this issue was ever resolved to your satifaction?

HP Recommended

No, it was not resolved to my satisfaction. HP basically told me to go buy a new battery at retail price. Regarding my filing with the[Moderator edited comment and sent PM]; they told me they didn't care at all, but I shouldn't bother filing because "...it would be our word against yours."
I filed anyway but nothing came of it. It was a real shame to be treated that way. I utilize a lot of HP enterprise products at work and speak regularly with business support. They are awesome. I feel like they would do anything for me. HP consumer support is lame.

I am sorry to hear that.  My laptop exploded yesterday damaging the antique table it was sitting on.  After several phone calls to various branches of HP customer service, I was able to set up a case file.  I was told I would be contacted by a service manager within 24 hrs.  I am praying something will be done.

My HP laptop was on fire just yesterday while i was using it on my lap. I had some burn too.

Can you please help me file the case? which are the right contact numbers/emails that i should use to avoid delay.

Hi @RJW54 , @parindpatel ,

I have brought your issue to the attention of an appropriate team within HP. They will likely request information from you in order to look up your case details or product serial number. Please look for a private message from an identified HP contact. Additionally, keep in mind not to publically post ( serial numbers and case details).

If you are unfamiliar with how the Forum's private message capability works, you can learn about that here.

George
