Hello Paul....thanks for the quick response...both the Base System Devices are happy now, but unfortunately I am still struggling with the Unknown Device. I downloaded the driver you suggested, but when installing the driver it bombs out at the Intel(R) Management Engine Interface Version 6.0.0.1179, saying: "An error occurred while registering one or more components. Setup will exit."

Hi:

Try manually installing the driver by clicking on the unknown device in the device manager. Click on the driver tab.

Click on Update driver. Select the "Browse My Computer for Software" method and navigate to C:\SWSetup\sp48062 and see if it loads that way.

If you are unsuccessful then you can try the AMT driver to see if that works.

Hey there....it seems this device hates me or something as both methods with both those two drivers didn't work...is this device crucial or can I leave it be?

Hi:

It would drive me nuts not to be able to get that device properly installed.

But no, you probably would never use it.

I wish I could be of more assistance, but it is the IMEI driver that is missing, and you have tried anything I would have tried.

Tis is my last ditch effort...try the driver directly from Intel...

Nope it gives me the same issue. Is this maybe used for the SIM slot at the back by the battery?

HP Recommended

No, it has to do with some kind of Intel system mangement. Mainly used by big corporations IT depts to manage their PC's.

Which reminds me...See if the TPM driver works. That is part of the Management Engine stuff...

Hi,

I have a new problem : the button "sleep" is disabled. It's a graphic driver issue I think.

My computer is a HP G62 Notebook G62-100EB.

Can I have a solution for this ?

Thank you in advance.

Regards,

Jc.

Hi:  @ jcvlad:

See if installing the chipset driver helps.

Hi @ KitsuneHonda:

Please read this about trying to get that pesky IMEI driver installed. Maybe this will work for you too.
