Hi, I have a HP G71 Notebook PC. Its operating system is Windows 7 64-bit. The touchpad scrolling slider(?) is not working. I tried going to 'Mouse' options but could find no solution. It was working perfectly fine until a couple weeks ago, when i tried using it it doesn't scroll the page and I am forced to use a mouse which is a real pain since I bring my laptop everywhere with me. I have not made any changes to the laptop before-hand so if I could have some help that would be great.

Hi,
First, download the latest Synaptics driver installer on the link below and save it to your Downloads folder.
http://ftp.hp.com/pub/softpaq/sp44501-45000/sp44969.exe
Next, open windows Control Panel, open Programs and Features, right click the entry 'Synaptics Pointing Device Driver' and select Uninstall.
When this has completed, restart the notebook.
When windows has fully reloaded, open your Downloads folder, right click the Synaptics installer and select 'Run as Administrator' to start the installation. When this has completed, restart the notebook again.
You may still need to adjust the setting shown in the document on the link below under the sub-heading 'Adjust Horizontal & Vertical Scrolling' - this applies to either a ClickPad or TouchPad.
