Hello. Please my Hp 6735s notebook would not come on. When I press the power button, the on button lights up but no screen display and then the caps lock key blinks five times and stops. The hard drive LED however continues blinking. Please what does this mean and what should I do? Please help. Thanks.

Hi,
Based on this, the systemboard/motherboard on your machine is no good at all.
LEDs blink 5 times | System board | General system board failure |
It looks like you have to replace it even one technican said (similar laptop):
"I am a laptop repair technician and now I'm repairing a 6735s with the same problem. I reached this forum seeking information on the 5 flashes the caps lock.
After removing the computer's motherboard I found that pressing hard on AMD SB700 Southbridge, the computer turns on and shows the hp logo on the screen. The solution is reballing this chip. It is an advanced repair and is not available to everyone, because it requires specialized training and equipment."
Good luck.

Re my HP 6735s Notebook (Product no. GW694AV, ser. no. CNU9117522) I have blank screen with Caps lock blinking 5 times and HD light flashing orange every approx 2 secs which indicates motherboard problem, I believe. Can anyone help with assessing if a repair is worthwhile considering, or best replace two and half year-old machine? If considered worthwhile is there a competent, or approved agent in Trinidad W.I. who can examine, assess and quote for an effective repair (like replacing motherboard)?
As a novice in this process, does HP respond to queries we raise or is it for interested bloggers only?
