The class action was against nVidia the chipset maker for the video and it closed close to a year ago.

There are many places that do DV2000, DV6000 and DV9000 board level repair. "infrared reflow"
Price range $75 - $150.
Check to see if it can not be repaired there is no charge.
This is just one example on ebay. "There are many"
Also check to see if there is a company near you.
Good luck.

Hi,
I got the NVIDIA chipset OVERHEAT problem on my dv9700 laptop. Is it too late for the free repair for the class action lawsuit?
I never, ever received anything (Email, letter) from HP about this problem and the repair. I've registered my laptop when I bought it, a while back.
Thanks
