I don't know why your wireless adapter is not finding any wi-fi connections. If it shows up in the device manager, then it is installed correctly.
Unfortunately other than knowing what drivers you may need, I do not know much about troubleshooting network issues.
What model wireless card is installed in the device manager. I can see if I can find the latest driver for it.

Hi:
The first one is the Realtek wired ethernet controller.
The second one is the Realtek wireless network controller.
The last one is the Realtek card reader.
