Hi:

Please click on the missing audio controller in the device manager. Then click on the details tab. In the Properties drop down list, select the second item (Hardware ID's).

Post the top string of characters you see there. Those will identify the make and model of your audio device and I can send you the link to the drivers.

Hi:

Hi:

Give this audio driver a try.

Also, the device details you posted indicate that is the modem that is missing. The below link should be the driver for it.

Hi:

Try these two...

Audio

Modem:

If those don't work, then I don't have any other suggestions you can try other than to read this guide for upgrading notebooks to Windows 7.

The info for yours should be found under Models, Level 3.

same problem same computer, except when i tried using the driver that supposedly fixed the problem, i got an error that said "Driver Installation Failed: Could not find the MEDIA device for this driver." i'm using 64 bit windows 7 if that makes a difference

Hi,  Hounter90:

The driver that failed to install on your PC was for a 32 bit operating system.  32 bit hardware drivers will not work on a 64 bit OS, and visa versa.

I did a search for a 64 bit Conexant audio driver for you, and found one released around the same timeframe as the other one you tried to install, which you can download. Hopefully, it will work.

You can also try this one too, if the first one fails to install.
