My DVT3 laptop touchpad surface seems to be flaking off.  what can i do about it?  the laptop is two years old.

Could you please post complete product/model number of your Notebook so that we could help you Also Is it the paint on touchpad flaking off and could you upload a picture of Notebook touchpad which could be more informative.

the laptop is a DVT3 - 2000.   

 

it appears the paint is flaking, it's not something that's sitting on the surface.  the spot is circular, just below the touchpad light.  thanks!

Its  HP Pavilion dv3t-2000 CTO Notebook right ? The Service manual can be found here and in order to have your issue sorted out , you need to replace Top Cover (5) of the Notebook which is shown in picture below.
