Hi:

Below is the link to the service manual for your notebook. Supported processors can be found in Chapter 1 on page 1.

And the memory can be upgraded to a max of 8 GB, not 6 GB as listed on your product specs page.

Hi:

According to the service manual I posted above, it looks like you can.  But there may be a certain motherboard you need as well. Look at chapter 3 for the list of motherboards. I don't know what the different types mean.

I have no idea where you can take it to have it done. I suppose a reputable computer repair shop that works on HP computers.

You will void the warranty installing a different processor, if your PC is still under warranty.

I know that this is quite a dated post, but would that service manual also apply to a

HP Pavilion g6-2244sa?

It ships with an AMD Dual-Core E2-1800 with only 1.7GHz of processing power, which is very miniscule compared to usual modern CPUs.

Hi:

I do not believe that service manual is applicable to your model as it doesn't show the processor you have on the list of supported processors.

The problem is...the service manual that may be more closely related to your model doesn't show it on that list either, so I am unable to provide you with an answer that I would be confident sharing.
