HP Pavilion m6-1035dx
Microsoft Windows 7 (32-bit)

When I booted up, half the screen was white and the other half showed my desktop picture. I took out the battery and put it back in and now it is half white with colored vertical lines on the other half.

Hi @Divie1,

 Welcome to the HP Forum!

Thank you for joining the HP Forum community.  It is a great resource for information, tips and solutions that have helped others. Here is a link to First Time Here? Learn How to Post and More as a guide should you have any concerns or questions about the process.

I understand that when you booted your notebook half of the screen was white and the other half showed your  normal display. You took out the battery and then reinstalled it, now on restart, the white half remained the same, but the other half of the display shows vertical colored lines. Here is a link to HP Notebook PCs - Troubleshooting a Notebook LCD Panel Issue (Windows 8/8.1, 7).

Should you determine that the display requires replacement, please contact HP Support for service options. Please contact HP support at Contact HP Support. You could also connect an external monitor as a workaround.

Should you consider doing a self repair, here is a link to the  HP Pavilion m6 Entertainment PC Maintenance and Service Guide.  Please note chapter 3, page 29 for a list of the display assembly subcomponents.

Please let me know the outcome.

When you have resolved your difficulty, would you choose "Accepted Solution" on that post to alert other members and visitors to your success and perhaps help them.
