Single distinct color lines are 95% of the time caused by a defective cartridge that matches the color of the lines. Remove the cartridge and look at the bottom of the cartridge where the blue/green drum unit is and you will likely see matching lines on the drum. This is caused by failure of the toner control blades in the cartridge and the solution is to replace the cartridge. If this is OEM cartridge and the cartridge does not show as very low (print supplies status as HP may want to see it) then you should open a case with HP and get the cartridge replaced under HP image quality warranty.
