I installed a new HP-65 tri-color ink tank when the previous one ran out of blue. The new one shows up as empty on the printer display. I ran "HP Smart"and got a message that the cartridge is not communicating with the printer. Is the problem with the cartridge or printer? I can try returning the cartridge...

I exchanged the cartridge at the store where I purchased it. The replacement works fine, so it was a problem with the cartridge not the printer.

Thanks,

Mike

If you're having trouble with your printer, it's possible that the ink and toner cartridges, as well as the printer itself, could be the source of the issue. These cartridges have metal connectors that attach to the system. To address the problem, try firmly pushing the cartridge into the printer during installation. If this doesn't work, it may mean that the metal connector is faulty. This could be due to accidental damage or dropping the ink cartridge. If you haven't done any of these actions, it's likely that the metal connectors are defective. Consider purchasing new genuine HP ink cartridges.
