Hi @shivanya,
Welcome to HP Support Community.
Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.
If the black ink header on your HP Ink Tank 315 printer is blinking red despite trying all troubleshooting steps available online, here are a few additional things you could try.
Check the Ink Cartridges:
- Ensure that the black ink cartridge is properly installed and that there is no airlock or blockage in the ink nozzle.
- Try removing the cartridge and reinserting it to ensure a proper connection.
Check for Blockages:
- Inspect the printhead for any dried ink or clogs. Clean the printhead with a lint-free cloth or cotton swab dipped in warm water.
Reset the Printer:
- Perform a hard reset by turning off the printer, unplugging the power cord from the wall, waiting for 60 seconds, then plugging it back in and turning it on.
Check the Ink Levels:
- Make sure that the ink tank for black is not empty or low. Even if the levels are full, sometimes the printer doesn't recognize them properly.
Update Printer Firmware:
- Check if there is a firmware update for your printer via HP's official website or the HP Smart app. Sometimes a firmware update can resolve communication issues with the cartridges.
Replace the Ink Cartridge:
- If you've tried everything and the red blinking persists, the cartridge itself may be defective or malfunctioning. Replacing the black ink cartridge might resolve the issue.
I hope this helps.
Take care and have a good day.
