Thank you JonW!

I have used hours of installing/uninstalling the HP Photosmart C7180  All-in One printer for Windows 7 using the HP driver http://support.hp.com/us-en/document/c01918192

I got into all sorts of problems (for instance *.msi missig messages). The printer driver should be included in "HP Photosmart Full Feature Software and drivers", but no, it does not work properly. After installing, the driver is missing and the installed Solution Center do not work properly. To solve this, I have tried all the solutions suggested by HP, - no luck.

At last it was impossible to uninstall the whole thing.

Finally I came over your post JonW, - what a relief: it worked!

HP should have done something with this driver problem long ago. At least HP: get rid of the faulty  "HP Photosmart Full Feature Software and drivers" in your "Software and drivers download". Obviously the problem pertain not only to this spesific printer. HP has a common problem with the migration to Windows 7.

I have re-installed the software 3 times! It works until you shut off the computer, then will not work next time it turns on! Very frustrating!!

You get an error message that a vital component is missing, that is all.

Do people have to buy Canon or Epson printers when they upgrade to windows 7????

The scanning also does not work! Once you turn on the computer again, an error message comes up that you do not have HP Photo paint installed, and will not scan!

Please fix!!!!!!!

I would like to ask any one who is having this problem if they could help us try to replicate it by giving us the following details:

  • Which version did you start with ? eg old laptop windows xp
  • Which version of Windows 7 did you end up installing ? new laptop Windows 7 home premium 32 bit
  • What hp printer was installed in old version of windows?  F335 all-in-one deskjet
  • Where did the installed software for the printer come from   CD originally, web for Windows 7
  •                  If CD if you can find it now what is the number written on it?  Version 7.0.1

If web download approximatly when you downloaded it?today (2/10/10), yesterday and the day before. install, uninstall, install, uninstall, install

  • How is the printer connected to your PC ? print server utility(it makes printer wireless)
  • Any other printers installed on your PC?  No.
  • Lastly the version of the printer driver that is currently installed that will not enable you to print?  HP Deskjet F300 Series (13.1.0)

I hope someone can help me with this.  I answered all your questions and I need this fixed as soon as possible.  My daughter has a report due and I can't print out the pictures she needs or the report.  HELP

My basic problem is: my  5 month old Dell laptop upgraded a few days ago  from Vista  to W7 Home Premium (64 bit). My All in One HP C6150 will not print. It will not print from any appilcation, Word, TBird, test print etc. The only thing that will print is "Printer diagnostics page".

I have downloaded the printer software and drivers from the HP site Feb 19. (HP Photosmart Full Feature Software and Drivers and      Critical Update: Cannot find scanned image or document files after scanning completes.      and HP Print Software Patch When Upgrading Vista to Windows 7

I assume this means I have the latest driver and software for the C6150, ...13.1.0

My C6150 is a wireless printer. My 2 laptops are both wireless. My 3rd PC, a desktop running XP has and continues to be printing satisfactorily. I have not made any changes to my desktop operation.

The Dell laptop can see the C6150, ink levels and says I am connected. When I print a test page the paper comes out of  the printer and I get about 1/64" of the copy on the first line...then no more copy. As noted earlier, Tbird, Word etc will not print.

I also purchased a new HP laptop for my wife a few days ago and it came with Windows Home 7 Home premium(64 bit) installed and downloaded the same HP software. This laptop (the HP) prints OK. However this laptop will not print the "Test Page".

I'm guessing, it seems to me  my Dell problem seems to be related somehow to the Vista to W7 upgrade on the Dell laptop (T6500 chip, 4GB of ram, etc )

Any suggestions?....this is getting frustrating.

Hey all, I had this problem ever since I installed window 7. I had to keep vista on another partition just to print and it was a pain to log in and out between vista and window 7. Anyways I found a work around that works for me.

Head to the printer properties. Under the advance tab, just change the printing option to " print directly to the printer"

It worked on 2 of my pc running window 7. Short term fix until an offical fix is released.

WARNING!

HP's failure to provide Windows 7 drivers is part of a scam in conjunction with IRIS software.

If you haven't already received a call....beware of the "Technical Service" call from IRIS offering to give you a CD with upgraded IRIS software that is supposed to solve all of Windows 7 problems....the catch is, they want your credit card number and authorization to charge you $79.99 to "give" you the upgrade.

If I was not convinced already, this is the proverbial "last straw".  I choose to no longer do business with a company that does not value my loyalty as a customer.

I read this note after having weeks of the "nothing Prints" problem on my three laptops network that prints on one USB attached HP C4180 printer. No matter which of the two Windows 7 32bit (third is Windows 7 64bit)  laptop USBs I connected to the HP C4180 only one of these would print on the C4180. Saying it another way, printing from one of the two Windows 7 32bit laptops always disappeared.

So here I am reading the "How to fix it" note and reading it again and again. I finally realized that the Windows 7 Devices and Printers screen had an extra toolbar and in that toolbar were the words "Print server properties". I clicked those words and in the list of "Installed printer drivers" I saw a list of printer types have worked with for years and especially noticed "HP Photosmart C4100 series..." . The 'How to fix it" says I need to delete that printer. After several "delete fails' and restarts of  the laptop that printer driver was finally deleted. So I went to the other Window 7 32bit and went thru several the delete fails and restarts to finally delete the HP Photosmart C4100 series driver. During that long process I was installing   AIO_CDA_NonNet_Full_Win_WW_130_140 on the other Windows 7 32bit. During that install the shared C4180 magically appeared on the other two laptops and after that install completed all there laptops could print on C4180. Boy, success feels great!
