Hi @mmets228

Welcome to HP Support Community.

Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.

If you've recently changed your modem/router, it's possible that your devices (including your computer and printer) need to be reconnected to the new network. Here are some steps you can follow to troubleshoot:

1. Check Wi-Fi Connection:

  • Ensure your computer is connected to the correct Wi-Fi network. Sometimes, after a modem/router change, your computer might still try to connect to an old network or a different one.
  • Open your Wi-Fi settings, disconnect from the current network, and then reconnect to the correct Wi-Fi network (use the new network name and password).
  • Double-check that the modem/router is broadcasting the Wi-Fi signal. You can do this by looking at the router’s lights. The Wi-Fi light should be solid or blinking. If it’s not on, you may need to check the router’s settings to make sure the Wi-Fi is enabled.
  • If you have dual-band Wi-Fi (2.4 GHz and 5 GHz), ensure your devices are compatible with the band you've selected.

2. Check Printer Connection:

Re-connect Printer to Wi-Fi:

  • If your printer is wireless, you may need to reconfigure it to connect to the new Wi-Fi network. This can usually be done via the printer's control panel. On most printers, you can access the Wi-Fi settings in the "Network" or "Wireless" menu on the printer's screen. Look for an option like "Wi-Fi Setup Wizard" and follow the prompts to reconnect the printer to the new Wi-Fi network.

Printer's IP Address:

  • Once the printer is connected to the new Wi-Fi network, it should get a new IP address. You may need to update the printer's IP address on your computer to be able to print. You can usually find the printer’s IP address by printing a network configuration page from the printer's settings menu.

3. Restart Devices:

  • After making changes, it’s always a good idea to restart your devices:
    • Restart your computer and try reconnecting to the Wi-Fi.Restart your printer to ensure it recognizes the new network.

4. Troubleshoot Your Computer’s Wi-Fi::

  • On Windows, go to Settings > Network & Internet > Status, and click on "Network troubleshooter". This can help diagnose and resolve Wi-Fi connection issues.

5. Check for Software or Driver Issues:

  • Update Drivers:
    • If your computer can’t find the printer, make sure you have the latest printer drivers installed. Visit the manufacturer’s website to download and install the latest drivers.
  • Add Printer Manually:
    • You might need to manually add the printer on your computer if it’s not automatically detected. On Windows, go to Settings > Devices > Printers & Scanners > Add a printer or scanner, and follow the steps to add the printer.

I hope this helps.

Take care and have a good day.
