I have been using successfully the HP Smart App on my Mac and my HP printer. After I started the Instant Ink service my HP Smart App became very stupid and refused to be connected. It comes up ready for selecting a function and then gets into the sign-in request that goes nowhere. Does anyone know what the remedy is?

@GAB40, Welcome to the HP Support Community! I’m here to help.
To assist you better, what model printer are you using?
Refer to this document to know how to find the Product Name or Product Number.
I understand the HP Smart app is not working.
To assist you better, did you download this app from the App Store?
Which version of the HP Smart app are you using?
Go to HP Smart>About HP Smart.
Kindly check for any updates for this app in App Store.
Also, check for any software updates on Mac
Click the Apple icon > About This Mac > Software Update and install any available update.
If the issue persists, install the printer using the AirPrint option to print.
1.) Click the Apple menu, click System Preferences, and then click Print & Scan or Printers & Scanners.
2.) Check if your printer name displays in the Printers list, If your printer is listed, click the printer name, click the minus sign to delete the printer.
3.) If you see multiple printer queues for the same printer, remove all extra printers by selecting them one at a time, and then clicking the minus button at the bottom of the list.
4.) Click the plus sign click Add Printer or Scanner, click the printer name.
5.) Click the Use or Print Using menu, select AirPrint in the pop-up menu. Then click Add.
Note: Select "Bonjour multifunction" under kind while installing.
Try printing.
Hope this helps! Let me know how it goes.
