Hi @TM581,
Welcome to HP Support Community.
Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.
Here are the steps to reset the server's password.
- Power off the server and disconnect all cables.
- Locate the System Maintenance Switch on the motherboard. It is usually a small switch with a red cover.
- Change the position of the System Maintenance Switch to the ON position.
- Reconnect the power cables and power on the server.
- Wait for the server to complete the boot process. The server will display a message indicating that it is in maintenance mode.
- Use the default Administrator username and password to log in to the server. The default username is Administrator, and the default password is blank.
- Once logged in, reset the administrator password using the server's management tools or command line interface.
- Change the position of the System Maintenance Switch back to the OFF position.
- Reboot the server and log in using the new administrator password.
Note that resetting the system maintenance switch will clear the server's configuration settings and erase any customizations. Therefore, make sure to back up any critical data and configurations before proceeding.
I hope this helps.
Take care and have a good day.
