Hi @brewske49,

Welcome to the HP Support Community.

I'd be happy to help you!

Connecting your HP Tango printer to your MacBook Air via Bluetooth is not a supported feature as HP Tango printers use Wi-Fi for connectivity rather than Bluetooth. Instead, you can connect your HP Tango printer to your MacBook Air using Wi-Fi. Here’s how to do it:

Step 1: Connect the Printer to Your Wi-Fi Network

Download the HP Smart App:

  • Install the HP Smart app from the App Store on your MacBook Air.

Prepare the Printer:

  • Ensure the printer is powered on and within range of your Wi-Fi network.

Open the HP Smart App:

  • Launch the HP Smart app and follow the prompts to set up a new printer.
  • Select "Set Up a New Printer".

Follow the On-Screen Instructions:

  • The app will guide you through connecting the printer to your Wi-Fi network. You might need your Wi-Fi network name (SSID) and password.

Step 2: Add the Printer to Your MacBook Air

Open System Preferences:

  • Go to System Preferences > Printers & Scanners.

Add the Printer:

  • Click the + button to add a new printer.
  • Select your HP Tango printer from the list of available printers.
  • Follow the on-screen instructions to complete the setup.

Step 3: Print a Test Page

Open a Document:

  • Open any document or file you want to print.

Print:

  • Go to File > Print and select your HP Tango printer.
  • Print a test page to ensure the printer is connected and functioning correctly.

Troubleshooting Tips

Ensure the Printer is on the Same Network:

  • Make sure your MacBook Air and HP Tango printer are connected to the same Wi-Fi network.

Restart Devices:

  • Sometimes restarting both your MacBook Air and the printer can help resolve connectivity issues.

Update Firmware and Software:

  • Ensure your MacBook Air and HP Tango printer have the latest firmware and software updates installed.

If you follow these steps and still encounter issues, This might require one-on-one interaction to fix the issue via remote assistance.

Keep me posted for further assistance.
