Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

Windows 10 desktop will not print but it will scan. Driver loaded numerous times and shows either driver unavailable or core driver not found.  I have excluded the printer (same problem on identical printer), excluded network (printer fully functions on Android phone and Vista Laptop) Connects fine on both WIFI and USB, makes no difference.  Suspect WIN10 upgrade as both Desktop is a new pc with WIN10 Pro and another Laptop with WIN10 (upgrade from WIN8) now have the same problem and are not loading driver only showing driver unavailable. The desktop does scan however. Prior to last few weeks, all was working just fine. Software uploaded numerous times with same result. If no fix, I am wondering if a new printer would be better or present the same problem..

Did you uninstall the printer from the root level before installing the new driver?

If not, follow the below steps:- perform root-level uninstallation to remove all the printer-related software.

  • In Windows, search for and open Programs and Features.
  • Select your HP printer.
  • Select Uninstall.
  • In Windows, search for and open Devices and Printers.
  • In the Devices and Printers window look for your HP Printer. If you see it listed, right-click on it and choose "Delete" or "Remove Device.”
  • Open up the run command with the "Windows Key + R" key combo.
  • Type printui.exe /s and click OK.
  • Click on Drivers tab.
  • Look for HP Printer driver. If you see it click on it and click Remove at the bottom.
  • Select OK.
  • Remove all instances of the same.
  • Select Apply and OK on the Print Server Properties windows.
  • Close Devices and Printers. 
  • Restart the PC again.
