OfficeJet Pro 9015e
Linux

This is for a client. Client has a brand new OfficeJet 9015e installed behind a firewall. Firewall is Untangle / NG Firewall (NGFW)

The client is being email bombed because the printer is not connecting to HP. What network parameters do I need to look for and set up in the firewall? It might help if I knew what the NAME of the printer is when I look at the host list in the firewall, but that is the best I know at this time. A knowledgebase article or some sort of description of what I need to do would help us. I don't think knowing the OS is going to help solve this problem but NGFW is Linux based, as best I can tell.

I may have found my answer. It seems I did not understand the NGFW or even firewalls in general. There are several settings that can only be managed on-site. So, my first step is to get onsite and allow remote management of the firewall, if that is indeed required. If it is not required I can change the setting back to default after making the truly necessary changes. Second is to define a new policy. This also I did not fully understand. Thirdly, I need to somehow identify the traffic from the printer in the new policy and tell the firewall "No policy" for this policy! Weird but that is my current understanding. If you know about this sort of thing you can help me by saying I'm on the right track. My question now has to do with identifying the printer traffic among the non-printer traffic. What can I do to recognize the printer traffic? preferably the HP printer traffic from all other traffic?
