Over 20 years ago I owned a in HP 1020 LaserJet. That baby was a workhorse. The printer I have is probably most likely a small office color printer and I think I want to downsize back to a more recent version of the HP 1020. I bought this color printer a few years ago Thinking I Wanted color and now decide I don't Need color. I want a 2025 version or maybe a 2020 version of my HP 1020. With wi-fi and goes without saying dual side printing. Speed is not that much of an issue but cartridge expense may be the next concern after the model being another Reliable workhorse.
I want to specify that I don't want an all in one copier fax, just a printer. I did ask an AI last night and it recommended an HP model. What I liked about that model I won't say what model it was so it's not to influence any other answers is that the minimum paper size was 3.5" X 5". That's A Plus, since my default planner page is Filofax pocket close to 3.5 X 5.

Forget about purchasing printer workhorse like Laserjet 1020, the printers from the early 2000's were probably the best ever made.
Today look up for Laserjet M110w ( not M110we ) that is closest by appearance to Laserjet 1020.

HA! So printers (electronics in general) go like old cars, huh? ie the '57 Chevy was one of the Best ever made? I DO notice that with my cell phones, they're getting sorrier and sorrier. Lasting Only a year or two at the most.
So BTW Valsimot, the AI Did recommended That model. I trust you being a Level 14 Expert. I just wanted a Human to backup the AI response. And Thank So Much for your recommendation.
# 2 Would you trust a warranted rebuilt vs new?
