HP Photosmart D 110 printer won't recognize password.  Changed internet provider to ATT wifi.  Printer worked fine prior to this change.  Now i get INVALID WPA PASSWORD message when I enter the password even though I know the password was entered correctly.

Hi @Gene4452,

Welcome to the HP Support Community.

I'd be happy to help you!

If your HP Photosmart D110 printer won't recognize your new Wi-Fi password and says "invalid WPA," follow these steps to resolve the issue:

Step 1: Restart Your Printer and Router

  1. Turn off the printer: Unplug it from the power source.
  2. Restart your router: Turn it off, wait for about 30 seconds, and turn it back on.
  3. Turn on the printer: Plug the printer back in and power it on.

Step 2: Reset Network Settings on the Printer

  1. Access the printer control panel: From the Home screen, touch the Wireless icon.
  2. Reset network settings:
    • Navigate to Settings > Wireless Setup Wizard.
    • Select Restore Network Defaults or a similar option to reset the network settings.

Step 3: Reconnect to the Wi-Fi Network

  1. Open the Wireless Setup Wizard:
    • From the printer’s control panel, go to Settings > Wireless Setup Wizard.
  2. Select your network: Choose your Wi-Fi network (SSID) from the list of available networks.
  3. Enter the new Wi-Fi password: Carefully enter your new WPA/WPA2 password. Ensure there are no typos, and double-check the password for accuracy.

Step 4: Check Router Settings

  1. Log in to your router:
    • Access your router’s settings by entering its IP address in a web browser (commonly something like 192.168.1.1 or 192.168.0.1).
  2. Check WPA settings:
    • Ensure your Wi-Fi network is set to use WPA or WPA2 security. The HP Photosmart D110 supports WPA/WPA2 security protocols.
  3. Update firmware: Ensure your router's firmware is up to date.

Step 5: Use the HP Smart App for Setup

  1. Download HP Smart App:
    • Install the HP Smart app from the App Store or Google Play.
  2. Open the app:
    • Follow the prompts to set up a new printer.
    • Use the app to guide you through connecting the printer to your Wi-Fi network.

Step 6: Check for Firmware Updates

  1. Visit HP Support:
    • Go to the HP Support website and check for any firmware updates for your HP Photosmart D110 printer.
  2. Download and install updates: Follow the instructions to update the printer’s firmware.

Step 7: Verify Network Compatibility

  1. Check network band:
    • Ensure your router is broadcasting on a 2.4 GHz network. The HP Photosmart D110 may not support 5 GHz networks.

By following these steps, your HP Photosmart D110 printer should recognize the new Wi-Fi password and connect to your network. If you continue to experience issues, This might require one-on-one interaction to fix the issue via remote assistance.
