Hi--HP employee here from the Printing and Personal Systems division.  are you receivnig a specific error on the front panel?  If so, could you please list it here?  right above your post is the troubleshooting document for the 920 cartridge print head which should resolve your problem.  You might also want to run a cleaning and alignment from the HP software on your PC.

I bought my printer a month ago and 1 day after 30 day warranty this issue happened. I've replaced the cartridges, cleaned the print head, aligned it but it will not print black even though it says the ink is full. Can't we find a solution without me having to buy a new part or servicing it? Products like this should last more than 30 days.

This problem has been going on for quite a long time, with no apparent fix in sight.  We finally bought an Epson.  Comes with its own set of problems, but not ink related. . . . . .more like paper & envelope feed issues.

I got so tired of this problem that I walked out to dumpster, HP printer in hand, and tossed it in.  I went out immediately and bought a new printer that is not KNOWN to have these problems.  I've been happily printing for over a year!!!!

Gang, this is the solution!!

In a way I'm glad I'm not the only one to have this problem, but its a big pain nonetheless.  Like many I have always had HP priters, but if they don't work right I need something else.  What did you get?  By the way, my 7000 prints in black from some programs eg Indesign, but not from Autocad, and sometimes OK at A4, but not A3.

Same problem here. There are no error codes on the printer. It showed the black ink as out, I replaced the cartridge and no black ink prints. Absolutely none. I have cleaned print heads both ways, aligned the printer and tried another cartridge. NO BLACK prints at all.

I got an Epson Stylus NX430. So far, it's been flawless

Just posted elsewhere, but cleaning the vent on the black cartridge did the trick. You saved me from throwing out 85.00 dollars worh of ink and buying a new printer.  Thank You!
