My Deskjet 3050 reports "Open Output tray" Press OK. The tray is open and I press okay, but the error keeps appearing. Is there a sensor that is detached? How is the printer made aware of the door status?

Hi tbuckley,
There is a sensor switch in the lower right hand corner when you lower the paper tray. Make sure that the sensor arm hasn't broken or came unseated from the tray.

Hi tbuckley,
What happens if you open the cartridge door, and then close it?

Hi tbuckley,
Do you have an extended warranty on this printer?
This part is not replaceable. The switch is activated when you press straight back toward the printer as if the door was getting closed. You may be able to activate the switch if you can somehow get what is left of the arm pressed back toward the printer. I have included a link to some of our new printers below.
