We have a Officejet Pro 8600 N911g and all our incoming faxes are distorted and stretched.  They come in landscape rather than portrait.  Here is an example of what a fax should look like.  Here is what it looks like when faxed to our 8600.  The same problem occurs when faxes are saved to a network folder or emailed, but faxes are printed correctly.  It's been doing this since we set it up, we don't recieve any emails, and this is the case on Windows 7 32/64, Windows XP, and Server 2008.

I am having the same landscape/distortion issue, I tried to turn off auto-reduce under fax settings to fix it so we'll see what happens, but I think ultimately this is a printer software issue. For some fax machines the printer believes its getting a landscape fax, other fax machines it works fine for the fax tio email/network bit. Fax machine that works normally is canon d1150 if that helps hp support. Hopefully they are monitoring this, I want firmware fix 🙂

I just bought 2 of these same printers this past Friday and am having the same exact issue.  Has anyone found a solution?

Hello?  How many months do we wait for a simple answer on this please?

We have the same problem and it makes no difference if we send the digital fax to the network folders or to e-mail. We also tested sending it through AOL and through GoDaddy servers to MS Outlook 2010 AND we also eliminated Adobe as the culprit by sending it directly from the 8600 to Outlook on another computer that is using Nuance's PDF Reader (latest version).

C'MON HP WHAT DO YOU HAVE USER FROUMS FOR IF YOU DON'T LISTEN TO US. YOU (HP) HAVE A PROBLEM AND MANY OF US ARE MORE THAN UPSET FOR YOUR LACK OF SUPPORT.

By the way - we also talked with technical support - what a joke - we know more than they do AND they just want to say it's an Adobe thing. Anything to get you off the phone. WHY BE CONCERNED ABOUT MAKING GOOD QUALITY PRINTERS IF YOU HAVE SLOPPY SUPPORT

READY TO TAKE IT BACK.

We are having the same problem here.   Just started this weekend.

Gives us a paper mismatch when trying to print a incoming fax AND  the PDF HP digital fax shows up in landscape mode.

Does anyone have an update on this issue?

I have the same problem with digital fax to e-mail printing in landscape, very small & distorted. I have contacted HP customer service 3 times and the only thing they are interested in is getting you off the phone. I did finally get to speak with a CS supervisor 2 weeks ago and I was told they would have a senior support person look into this and call me back. I've yet to hear back from HP. I gave them my cell # so I could be reached anytime. The supervisor said I could file a complaint if nothing was done. Looks like that is what we all should do. FILE A COMPLAINT with HP.

The email feature was my reason to purchased this product. Also if we all go on the web and review this product and rate this feature as POOR quality then maybe HP will listen and fix it.

Will call HP one more time, then I plan to return the product as damaged. I did purchase the extended warranty. Spoke to the store I bought it from and they will return my money toward another product and it doesn't have to be a HP product.

HP you should care about selling products that do not work properly

We know that it is not an ADOBE error because the same thing happens if you have the digital fax being saved as a  .TIFF file
