My tree year old C6380 All in one has worked fine on w7 for over a year but recently the Solution Centre Toolbox tells me it "Cannot establish two way communication with the computer". Printing and scanning remain fine. Forums solutions etc. tell me to reinstall the latest software and I have done this many times, including all suggested fixes like running reg.cleaners and scandisk between uninstall and reinstall and nothing works. I have discussed this at Computer Which? and like me they are at a loss. Can anybody help me or is it time to give up and buy another make?

I'm having almost the same problem. My OS is Win 7 (64) I have the Officejet Pro 8500a 909a (All-in-One) and after downloading the drivers and/or software I can't find or install the HP Solutions Center. That is what I need to make it all flow. What should I do? Is there a link?

CBree5,
Follow HP technician's "Shlomi" procedure presented in the second message of this thread (on page 1).
EXCEPT< for where my printer "HP1400 serices all-in-one" is presented, bustitute your printer driver name for mine.
Hope that helps you to resolve your HP Solution Center installation on your System 7 PC issue.
Best Regards,
-Warren-

I have the same problem. My HP C6180 will no longer scan from teh solution centre. It will scan from its web address in my browser, so when the Solution Centre says that the HP device was not found, it is that which is the problem.
It worked for 2 or more years perfectly happily, now it has cracked up.
I have tried teh solution in the second post, TWICE now. ONce it did nothing at all, the second time it worked, but the next day it could no longer scan.
THis is a problem across many forums and many printers over many years. Surely there has to be a solution for it. Clearly it is not the HP Solution Centre.

Shlomi,
Could you let me know if I need to download a different version of the Software if I'm using Windows 7 Enterprise - Service Pack 1. I have a Officejet Pro 8500 and when I use your solution, I receive an error which suggests that "the installation is not completed" or "Please plug in the USB Cable" which is in... as I can print. I'm keen to use the Solution Centre Software for the scanning capabilities

ScubaNut: I have a HP Officejet 4315 All in One. I have a new laptop (Win7-64Bit) and I cannot get the HP Solutions to work. On my old laptop I had Vista and it worked fine. What I am doing right now is going to printers and devices and scanning documents but it does not give me the option to scan to .pdf. I made several attempts to set up the Solution Center following some instructions I saw on the Forum and I got the Solution icon to finally show up but it says my device installation is still not complete. I am stuck.
Hi ScubaNut,
Unfortunately, a Full Feature Software for your product is not available for Windows7.
Installing any previous OS software will fail as it is not intended for the OS.
Below you may find what functionality is offered:
http://support.hp.com/us-en/document/c01796736
In order to get PDF scanning, OCR, i affrain your only options migth be to upgrade your device to a newer one which fully support Windows7, or check for 3rd party scan solutions which provide PDF support (As VueScan for example).
Hope it clarifies,
Shlomi

nhow22: I went through all of the steps, except, when I removed the drivers in the second step I didn't remove the package. And I was not able to go back and do it later as the printer was gone. But I was able to download the solutions center but it says my device is not connected to my computer, but it is. Is there anything else I can try?
Hi nhow22,
Is your printer is the same model as discussed above (PSC 1400), or may it be another model?
Did you made sure to keep the USB unplugged till prompted to connect it by the software installation, and if so - could you see any software progress while connecting the cable or any specific error message?
Regards,
Shlomi
