I have 3 HP LaserJet M1319f Multifunction Printers 2 are now attached too new Windows 7 64bit computers and 1 to XP Pro SP3. The option to scan to PDF is no longer available on the Windows 7 machines. I can scan to .jpg or .gif. I do have the latest drivers installed because I had to down load the software from HP as the disk would not work with Windows 7. Do I have to orders new disk from HP to get additional software? Is that even an option? Any help would be welcome.
Regards, John

We had this same problem. It is fixable. After the printer is properly installed for Windows 7, you have to do a workaround. My IT guy figured this out - you can isolate the .msi file for just the ScanTo software. He downloaded and opened up the folder for the full driver installation that you used to need for earlier Windows versions, and he found ScanTo.msi. If you open up and install just that little guy, you should have the software installed on your machine. You'll have to add the desktop shortcut for ScanTo yourself, but it will work and you'll be able to PDF again. Good luck!

The complete fix does not work on 64 bit win 7 OS, just 32 bit. I'm still using an old computer with XP SP3 to scan into a PDF using HP Twain becasue the "new" 64 bit fix only lets you save as an image file and eacch page come out as a separate page, no option to combine pages into one file. It's pretty stupid to have to send a 33 page document as 33 files don't you think.
Someone tell me what I'm doing wrong or is HP just not catching up with what their clients need.

Hi bosque71,
I relize that you have Win 7 64-bit. I was hoping that the full feature software and driver for Win 7 32-bit would also work for Win 7 64-Bit. Download the host base print and scan driver from the link below for Win 7 64-Bit. Let me know if you are still unable to scan to PDF?

Downloaded this file and still does not work. Still only BMP, TIFF, JPG, AND PNG options only. I downloaded the HPSDU.exe file and it tested a Windows scan option OK and HP Twain scan OK, but HP scan failed (not found) and Laser Jet Service not found. I can't seem to get to the HP Twain which works on my XP computer.

Hi bosque71,
Can you scan using Microsoft Paint?
Do you have an icon on your desktop that looks like a scanner?

I can scan from MS paint but only one page at a time.
I don't have an icon for HP scan on my desktop. I access scan from the "printer and devices" printer icon.
My original HP disk is from 2008 and will no longer install in the win 7 environment.
I have win 7 home edition.
Still not making any progress, any additional uggestions?

Hi bosque71,
Do you have the HP Scan icon at the location below?
1. Click All Programs
2. Click the HP folder
3. Click the HP LaserJet M1319f
4. Click HP Scan
