Hi There,

My Officejet 7000 Wide Format does not pick up the paper especially the A4. It begun going wrong when a bunch of about 220 A4s got stuck. It doesn't pick up the A4 and it picks up the A3 the wrong way so most of them end up crunched up.

Many thanks for your help in advance.

Michael

Hi Michael

Any joy when you clean the rollers?

Maybe there's some debris and dust there after the 220 A4's got stuck.

Hi Ciara,

i have cleaned the rollers but no luck. The right hand rollers don't pick up the paper as fast as the other set so even the A3s don't go into the machine straight.

Hi MichaleGlyn

Apologies for not replying sooner, I only came across this post again today. Are you still having issues with the paper feed? Do you know if the printer is still within warranty?

Im having the same problem, but mine doesn't pick up anything,
Ive cleaned the rollers to no avail.

What drives me nuts is Ive only printed maybe two dozen prints off this thing in the yeah and a half Ive had it.

every time i what to print it takes the paper and then gives me a paper feed flash light .i even installed win 7 drivers twice

Looking at it from the back, (inside the printer) the roller set on the left descend to the paper but do not spin.  The roller set on the right do spin, so landscape-oriented paper gets picked up on that side, but skews.  Portrait- oriented paper doesn't get picked up at all.  My printer is in near to new condition and did work ok, but just stopped.  I've been through all the recommended procedures, like cleaning the rollers across the back, but the problem is occuring before it gets that far..  Is it possible to replace these inner roller sets?  And if so, where would I go?

Thanks in advance.  Mary

My 7000 is doing the exact same thing, and I've never printer more than 10 sheets through it.  From the front, the right paper pickup wheels are not spinning, and thus will not advance A4 sized paper into the printer.  Is there a solution to this, or did I waste money on this product?

Hi Tom, have you followed the troubleshooting steps in the link? (including cleaning the rollers)?

Thanks, Ciara

The problem with all the OJ 7000 printers is that the small gear on the shaft of the pickup assembly(pickup assemblies are under the printer, barely seen) skids on the shaft and doesn't have the ability to turn the gears when something is slowing them down(like paper in tray). That happens on the left pickup assembly when you look from the back of the printer.

That is a designer flaw and I discovered it after having a real hard time dismantleing the printer. One of the worst industrial designs ever. Full of flaws and a bitch to dismantle to service. I'm not a HP employee, but have an extensive experience with repairing of HP printers.

http://i.imgur.com/wrNa8Kh.jpg - here you can see how the gear is not in place at 1st, that shiny spec is toothed so when the gear is on it, it spins with the gear. The problem is when the gear slids of that toothed shaft segment. Also when you put it back on that shaft segment, big chance is you still won't have a functional printer as the gear is eaten by the shaft spinning while gear was blocked.

Try to glue the gear back to the shaft if you're good with tools and hope for the best.

best regards
