Whenever I try to print a photo, the printer cycles and then the following error message appears: "The photo tray is blocked. Please adjust the tray and try again."

Removing the tray, changing the photo paper, recycling the printer: nothing seems to work. I have also removed the duplexer and checked the paper path. The regular paper tray feeds correctly.

Just got my photosmart 7510 as well, and had the same problem. Found a forum that solved the problem for me. Try removing the tray and on the back right side of the tray is a gray gear thing you need too press down (mine was in the up position).

I tried the moving the grey latch on the back down, and still the photo tray says it's blocked.  Any suggestions?  I've done everyting that HP suggests.

Hi, i am no expert. However, i found that sometimes the photo paper guide comes out of its path and that stops the paper tray fully loading into the printer.

Check the paper tray as it is going in and see what is stopping the tray from fully going into the printer...

PS the grey thing is meant to go up and down. Leave it.

Best of luck

I have the same problem.  Did anyone find a solution?

I had this problem from when I bought the computer new over a year ago but didn't need the photo tray - until today. A simple solution for me was that the slider on the photo tray was not located properly. Remove any paper in the tray and if the slider is not firmly located to the bottom of the tray then slide it to the right where there is a 'cut-out' and locate the slider correctly. It will make sense when you remove the tray and examine the slider - if yours is the same problem. Now I have to go and buy some ink!!
