I have just purchased a photosmart 5510 and installed on a MAC OS 10.7 machine

This is to replace an old but reliable HP scanjet 2400 scanner which I have been using connected to a windows machine. on the scanjet I could scan multiple pages to a pdf document, but I cannot find out how to do this on the 5510.

Thanks in advance

Hi,

Did you installed the Full Feature Software?

If not, make sure to download and install it:

http://ftp.hp.com/pub/softlib/software12/COL39428/mp-96135-2/Photosmart-5510-series_v12.14.0.dmg

Once completing the installation, install the latest HP Update by clicking the Apple icon and then Software Update.

While scanning with HP Scan3 you wil see an option to save the pages into a single PDF file.

Regards,

Shlomi

Thanks Schlomi for your prompt reply. I have installed and updated the software as you suggested. I cannot find anything called scan3 on this MAC after this has been done. Nor cannot find an easy way to download it.

Thanks

In the lower left of the HP Scan page are two buttons Add /Remove Pages. Simply click on the + page button and you can scan multiple pages.
Hope this helps.

I am having this same problem.  Where is the Scan page that you are referring to that has the + button?

The best thing to use is the scan3 software. I had some difficulties installing it on the mac, but once it's done you have all you need

Hello,

HP photosmart 5510 e (5514) (Purchased May12)

MAC OS - Snow Leopard (10.6.8) on MacBook Pro

Issue #1 - Took 3-4 days to have the printer work on the wireless network including 1 hr + with hp tech support

Issue #2 - Scanner sw (HPScan 3) cannot connect to said printer.  Said printer does not connect to laptop.  HP Help for MAC OS is CLOSED on weekends.............

Reloaded drivers, updated sw, reloaded printer, no joy on all counts

Any help will be appreciated
