My HP CP1215 makes a loud groaning noise as it prints the last page of each document.  How can i fix that?

HI Chal123,

A couple of things to check is the toner levels in all of your print cartridges. With that printer you can print past the very low state, if you have seen the very low message and continue to print it may be possible that there is very little toner remaining in one or more of the print cartridges. The toner actually help lubricate the internal rollers of the cartridges, therefore you may hear a groaning noise when printing.

The other thing to check is the paper type you are using. If you are using heavier media but not choosing a different media type in the print driver it is possible to hear groaning as well. Go to this link to see how to set your paper type in the printer driver http://support.hp.com/us-en/document/c01824353The document is for another product but the steps are the same. The reason is that when you set the media type it will slow down the printer to the appropriate speed for the media type.

thank you for a quick answer.

the paper was set at 'plain' and I am using 20lb paper.  no changes to what i have always used. (before noise started.)

the lowest ink cartridge was the Magenta at 36%.  Blk =71%   cyan = 75% yellow= 85%

but i changed the Magenta cartridge at your recommendation and the noise went away!  thank you.
