Printer is just over 1 year old. I just replaced all of the ink cartridges and now the display reads: "Remove all cartridges. Next lift black latch and removve printhead. Then reinstall printhead and cartridges." I followed the directions with no resolve. I have also tried cleaning the printhead, putting the old cartridges back in and  reset the printer and reinstalled the drivers. I still get the same error messege.

I have the same message as the others and cleaning the head does not fix it. Does the head require loading all cartriges because I only have the black one installed and the color slots are empty. The error message doesnt complain about missing cartriges.

@ semockr - The B209a does require all cartridges be in the printhead and have ink available to function. As to to the error, if you have tried the steps in the documents linked by 007OHMSS, then the printhead may have gone bad in this printer.

There are a couple of options in this case:
1) One can try the workaround solution posted in the thread located here
2) One can purchase a printhead for this printer from the HP Parts Store using the CN642a part number
3) One can purchase a new printer

Hope this helps.
