I was able to use the scanner in my Photosmart 210e printer by typing in the IP 10.0.0.3 in my web browser and it scanned the doument I needed.  How can I change the IP address for my scanner.  I changed the IP address for my printer but when I ran an HP scan diagnotic it still shows my IP for my scanner as 198.168.1.5. I still cannot scan using my computer icon.

After I went to the web page and entered the IP address, derfault Gateway, and the Subnet Mask, I clicked on "apply" 20 minutes ago and it is still running.  Is this right?  Should I just void everything?

Thanks S Batts

What about a 1210xi, which has no display?  Mine is suddenly "offline" and i cannot reset it...

I still don't get it.  I'm not able to connect my printer wirelessly since I changed internet providers.  I'm going bananas.  If you can help me connect wirelessly, I'll send you a consultant fee in the mail!

I'm going to take a wild guess here and presume that when you changed internet providers you were issued a new router? This seems to be common practice now.

In that case...

To set up the printer with the new router you'll need a way of configuring it. As far as I know the "all in one" inkjets need to be set up via a USB connection. I believe if you use a computer that has a wifi connection then the HP network utility can import the wifi settings automatically.

An alternative option in the short term is to configure the old router for the new provider. So far I've yet to encounter an ADSL router that's truely "locked".

A third option is to reconfigure the old router and turn off its DHCP service. Then it can be reused as an access point to host the printer, connected to the new router. If its a broadband router then turning off broadband will save a bit of power.

Hey

I followed your guide and when I try to type the IP address of the printer it says "IP is not available the connection to ***.***.**.** was interrupted.

Could you please help me

I have windows 7 and a HP 6988 deskjet printer.  Everything has been working until I changed to a new modem. All settings are showing "ready to print" after re-installing the printer and doing all of the other checks.  But I keep seeing a flashing light on my printer control panel showing not connected to the network, so my printer will not print anything but the printer configuation page, when I hold the print button, after yet another reinstallation  My printer config in control panel sometimes swiches to printer offline, I am so confused as to what to do to resolve these mixed signals. This is not the first time I have had this problem, so I cannot blame it on the new modem.  It seems any changes at all to network config. keeps me from being able to print, until I solve the problem by trial and error.  I never know what I am doing right or wrong.   All of my other network computors and printers are online and working fine.  Help me if you can.
