I bought a CP2025 Wireless printer.  I have a Linksys wireless router and HP Pavilion G6 laptop computer.  I cannot get the printer set up for wireless printing.  My laptop runs Windows 7 64 bit OS.  I had to download the driver from the HP site as the install CD would not work.  The printer will work using a USB.  When I pull a network report the TCP/IP status says cable disconnected and IP not configured.  At no point during installation did  it request my network password.  Contacted HP who said contact your network administrator, hello, this is a home computer, there is no network admin.   Basically HP said, sorry can't help you.  This is so frustrating.  I was told by the sales rep that all I had to do was plug the printer to the computer and windows 7 takes care of setting up the wireless.  Any help here is greatly appreciated.  I did try manually putting the IP address in and that did not work.

Yes indeed,

According the product specification, this product have network capabilities by wired connection to the router, it do not provide any Wireless capabilities by default.. some of the product models provide USB connectivity only (CP2025) and some additionally provide Ethernet connectivity (CP2025n, CP2025dn, CP2025x)

Wireless do available by using an external wireless print server (ew2400 10/100TX & 802.11b/g USB 2.0 External Print Server), but not as part of the original product capabilies.

Let me add I ran the diagnostic utility it does not see the printer, checked the firewall in the advanced tools, says firewall disabled.  Still stumped.

Hi,

Please clarify the exaact printer model.

According both the product specification and the User Manual (Page 48), the CP2025 support wired 10/100 network connectivity only.

Therefore you should use an ethernet cable cable to plug the pritner to your router.

Thanks for your response. On looking further the box says this is a CP2025dn, however the model on the unit says CP2025.  It seems as though the information provided when I purchased the unit was incorrect.  I appreciate you helping to resolve the issue.

I'm having the same problem my box said CP2025dn and then the actual printer says CP2025.  I read your post and the responses and I still don't understand.  Is this brand new printer able to print wirelessly or eprint from my iPhone, does anyone know?  I thought it would, but now I'm having major problems trying to set up my iPhone to print.  Need some kind of printer email address, please help.
