I'm not sure I know how to - this would be changing my computers network preferences (im on a max running lion) correct? just would rather not upset the entire network, ipad, desktop, laptop etc. It's been working fine on the network for more than a year until now?

What router are you using?  If you switch from WPA2 to WPA/WPA2 no other devices will have to change.

Ok. It's apple airport express that I'm using.

So then I do that via my network preferences and not on the printer, correct? I've looked at my network preferences and frankly have no idea how to change the network to WPA/WPA2

Forgive me - not my area, clearly!

OK, this is easy.  Open Finder and go to Applications > Utilities > Airport Utility.  Open it.

Now, click once on your device on the left, then click Manual Setup along the bottom

Navigate to the Wireless tab and then from the Wireless Security pull-down choose WPA/WPA2 Personal

Click Update.   That's it!

You're right, easy. But it seems to already be on  WPA/WPA2 Personal. So maybe that's not the issue?

I've got a deskjet D5560 and it's stopped working all of a sudden. I press the wi-fi button to try and connect to the internet but it never makes the connection. I've printed off the configuration page and also the wireless network test report and it says that "Your HP settings do not match your wireless router settings". How do i make them the same?

Aarrgghh!

Start by Restoring Wireless (or Network) Defaults from the front panel of the printer.

The easy way - use WPS (pushbutton) on the printer then push the WPS button on your router (if it has one).

The hard way - Get the latest software for your printer from the "Support & Drivers" link at the top of this page.  Install the software, choosing Wireless as the installation type when it asks.

I would like to do this, but every time i hit "apply" the page time out and safari tells me that the server im trying to connect to is offline?

Currently the printer itself tells me that it cannot connect to any devices, though when i print from both laptop and desktop the thing prints. It absolutely wont scan, which is crucial for me?

I'm about to pitch this thing:)

advice please?

thanks

OK, let's verify a few things:

1. This is an OfficeJet 6500?

2. It is connected to the AIrport Express via wireless (not USB), right?
